Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef (sirloin or flank steak), cut into cubes
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional)
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and rice vinegar to make the marinade.
  2. Add beef cubes and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Thread marinated beef onto skewers.
  4. Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Cook skewers for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until caramelized and cooked to desired doneness.
  6. Optional: Simmer leftover marinade with cornstarch and water until thickened.
  7. Brush thickened sauce over cooked skewers.
  8. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
