Ingredients
- 1 lb beef (sirloin or flank steak), cut into cubes
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar or honey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp cornstarch (optional)
- 2 tbsp water
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and rice vinegar to make the marinade.
- Add beef cubes and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Thread marinated beef onto skewers.
- Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Cook skewers for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until caramelized and cooked to desired doneness.
- Optional: Simmer leftover marinade with cornstarch and water until thickened.
- Brush thickened sauce over cooked skewers.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

- Add vegetables like bell peppers, onions, or zucchini to skewers.
- Include chili flakes or sriracha for extra heat.
- Use chicken instead of beef for variation.
- Avoid overcooking to keep beef tender.
- Soak wooden skewers in water before grilling to prevent burning.
