Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 34 tea bags (black tea or green tea)
  • 1/23/4 cup fresh passion fruit pulp (or concentrate)
  • 24 tbsp honey, sugar, or simple syrup (to taste)
  • 12 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
  • Ice cubes, for serving
  • Fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a boil and steep tea bags for 5–10 minutes until strong.
  2. Remove tea bags and let tea cool to room temperature.
  3. Extract passion fruit pulp and strain lightly if a smoother texture is desired.
  4. Mix cooled tea with passion fruit pulp and sweetener, stirring well to combine.
  5. Add lemon juice if using and adjust sweetness to taste.
  6. Chill mixture in the refrigerator for 1–2 hours until very cold.
  7. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

  • Do not over-steep tea to avoid bitterness.
  • Fresh passion fruit gives the best natural flavor, but bottled juice can be used.
  • Green tea creates a lighter, more delicate version of this drink.
  • Stir before serving as pulp may settle at the bottom.
  • Can be prepared a day ahead for deeper flavor.
