Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 3–4 tea bags (black tea or green tea)
- 1/2–3/4 cup fresh passion fruit pulp (or concentrate)
- 2–4 tbsp honey, sugar, or simple syrup (to taste)
- 1–2 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
- Ice cubes, for serving
- Fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Bring water to a boil and steep tea bags for 5–10 minutes until strong.
- Remove tea bags and let tea cool to room temperature.
- Extract passion fruit pulp and strain lightly if a smoother texture is desired.
- Mix cooled tea with passion fruit pulp and sweetener, stirring well to combine.
- Add lemon juice if using and adjust sweetness to taste.
- Chill mixture in the refrigerator for 1–2 hours until very cold.
- Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
Notes
- Do not over-steep tea to avoid bitterness.
- Fresh passion fruit gives the best natural flavor, but bottled juice can be used.
- Green tea creates a lighter, more delicate version of this drink.
- Stir before serving as pulp may settle at the bottom.
- Can be prepared a day ahead for deeper flavor.
