Ingredients
- 2 cups ripe papaya, peeled, seeded, and chopped
- 1 cup cold water or coconut water
- 1 tbsp lime or lemon juice (optional)
- 1–2 tsp honey or sugar (optional, to taste)
- Ice cubes (optional, for serving)
- Optional add-ins: 1 tsp fresh grated ginger, 1/2 cup pineapple chunks, a few fresh mint leaves
Instructions
- Peel and seed the papaya, then chop into cubes.
- Place papaya and water or coconut water in a blender.
- Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Taste and add lime juice and sweetener if desired. Blend again briefly.
- Optional: Strain the juice through a fine mesh sieve for a smoother texture.
- Serve over ice or chill in the fridge before serving.
Notes
- Use only ripe papaya for the best flavor and sweetness.
- Blend with orange juice, mango, or pineapple for tropical variations.
- Add coconut milk for a creamier version.
- Store in the fridge for up to 2 days and shake before drinking.
- Freeze in ice cube trays to use in smoothies or chill other drinks.
