Ingredients

  • 1 large fresh orange, peeled and segmented
  • 1 small piece of orange peel (with minimal white pith)
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt or plant-based yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk or orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash the orange thoroughly and remove most of the white pith from the peel. Cut a small piece of peel to use.
  2. Add the orange segments, banana, yogurt, and milk or orange juice into a blender.
  3. Add the small piece of orange peel for a citrusy boost.
  4. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  5. Add ice cubes and blend again until chilled and refreshing.
  6. Taste the smoothie and add honey or maple syrup if extra sweetness is desired.
  7. Adjust consistency by adding more liquid if needed, then blend briefly again.
  8. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use only a small amount of orange peel to avoid excessive bitterness.
  • Remove as much white pith as possible for a smoother flavor.
  • Frozen banana can be used for a thicker, creamier texture.
  • Add spinach or kale for extra nutrients without overpowering the citrus taste.
  • Fresh ginger or pineapple can enhance flavor with a spicy or tropical twist.
  • Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored up to 24 hours in the refrigerator.
