Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear the chicken for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish.
  6. Spoon marinara sauce evenly over each chicken breast.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese generously on top.
  8. Bake for 15–20 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
