- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the chicken for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer the chicken to a baking dish.
- Spoon marinara sauce evenly over each chicken breast.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese generously on top.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.

- Add sliced mushrooms or spinach for extra flavor and texture.
- Sprinkle crushed red pepper flakes into the marinara sauce for a spicy version.
- Provolone cheese or a mozzarella-provolone blend can be used for a richer cheesy topping.
