  • 1.5 lbs chicken breast or chicken thighs
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and drained
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 cups French fries
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, sliced
  • 2 cups lettuce
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Add the chicken and coat well with the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Cook the chicken in a hot skillet, grill pan, or oven until golden outside and fully cooked inside.
  4. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then slice into strips.
  5. Prepare the tzatziki by combining Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, dill, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  6. Mix until creamy and smooth, then refrigerate until ready to serve.
  7. Cook the fries until crispy and golden brown.
  8. Warm the pita bread if desired.
  9. Assemble each plate with sliced chicken, fries, pita bread, lettuce, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, red onion, and feta cheese.
  10. Add a generous scoop of tzatziki and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Chicken thighs stay extra juicy and flavorful.
  • You can replace fries with rice, roasted potatoes, or couscous.
  • Homemade tzatziki tastes freshest, but store-bought works well too.
  • Add olives, hummus, or pickled onions for extra flavor.
  • Store chicken and tzatziki separately in airtight containers.
  • Reheat fries in an oven or air fryer for best crispiness.
