- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cucumber, grated and drained
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 cups French fries
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- 1/2 red onion, sliced
- 2 cups lettuce
- 1/2 cup feta cheese
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the chicken and coat well with the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Cook the chicken in a hot skillet, grill pan, or oven until golden outside and fully cooked inside.
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then slice into strips.
- Prepare the tzatziki by combining Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, dill, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Mix until creamy and smooth, then refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Cook the fries until crispy and golden brown.
- Warm the pita bread if desired.
- Assemble each plate with sliced chicken, fries, pita bread, lettuce, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, red onion, and feta cheese.
- Add a generous scoop of tzatziki and serve with lemon wedges.
Notes
- Chicken thighs stay extra juicy and flavorful.
- You can replace fries with rice, roasted potatoes, or couscous.
- Homemade tzatziki tastes freshest, but store-bought works well too.
- Add olives, hummus, or pickled onions for extra flavor.
- Store chicken and tzatziki separately in airtight containers.
- Reheat fries in an oven or air fryer for best crispiness.
