Ingredients

  • 1 pound frozen or homemade French fries

  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the French fries according to package instructions or bake homemade fries until crispy and golden.

  5. Simmer the chili for 15 minutes until thick and flavorful.
  6. Spread the crispy fries onto a serving platter or baking dish.
  7. Spoon the hot chili evenly over the fries.
  8. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  9. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Finish with jalapeños, sour cream, and sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

  • Frozen fries make this recipe quick and convenient.
  • Use Monterey Jack or a cheese blend for different cheese flavors.
  • Nacho cheese sauce creates a creamier topping variation.
  • Extra jalapeños or hot sauce can be added for more heat.
  • Replace ground beef with black beans or plant-based crumbles for a vegetarian version.
  • Store leftover chili separately from fries to maintain crispiness.
