Ingredients
- 500g chicken breast (cut into small bite-sized pieces)
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Place chicken pieces in a bowl and cover with buttermilk. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- In another bowl, beat the egg.
- Remove chicken from buttermilk, dip into the egg, then coat thoroughly in the flour mixture.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
- Fry chicken in batches for 4–5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.

- Add chili powder or cayenne for extra spice.
- Mix herbs or parmesan into the coating for added flavor.
- For a lighter option, bake or air fry instead of deep frying.
- Ensure oil is hot before frying for maximum crispiness.
