Ingredients

5 tablespoons soy sauce

¼ cup chopped green onion

2 ½ tablespoons white sugar

2 tablespoons minced garlic

2 tablespoons sesame seeds

2 tablespoons sesame oil

½ teaspoon ground black pepper

1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, green onion, sugar, garlic, sesame seeds, sesame oil, and black pepper until combined.

Marinate the Beef: Place the thinly sliced flank steak in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the beef. Ensure the meat is fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight for more intense flavor.

Grill the Beef: Preheat an outdoor grill to high heat and lightly oil the grill grate. Grill the marinated flank steak for 1-2 minutes per side, until charred and cooked through.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve the Beef Bulgogi immediately with rice, in lettuce cups, or alongside Korean side dishes like kimchi or cucumber salad.

Notes

If you don’t have an outdoor grill, you can cook the beef in a grill pan or cast-iron skillet on the stovetop.

For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes or serve with gochujang (Korean chili paste).
