Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless chicken breast or thighs
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 4 sandwich buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 12 tomatoes, sliced
  • Pickles (optional)
  • 1/2 cup coleslaw (optional)
  • 4 slices cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Cook the chicken in a skillet or on a grill over medium heat for 6–7 minutes per side until fully cooked.
  3. Brush or toss the chicken with barbecue sauce and cook for another minute to caramelize slightly.
  4. Remove from heat and let the chicken rest, then slice or shred it.
  5. Toast the sandwich buns lightly.
  6. Place the BBQ chicken on the bottom half of each bun.
  7. Add lettuce, tomato, pickles, cheese, or coleslaw as desired.
  8. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
