Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless chicken breast or thighs
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 4 sandwich buns
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 1–2 tomatoes, sliced
- Pickles (optional)
- 1/2 cup coleslaw (optional)
- 4 slices cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Season the chicken with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Cook the chicken in a skillet or on a grill over medium heat for 6–7 minutes per side until fully cooked.
- Brush or toss the chicken with barbecue sauce and cook for another minute to caramelize slightly.
- Remove from heat and let the chicken rest, then slice or shred it.
- Toast the sandwich buns lightly.
- Place the BBQ chicken on the bottom half of each bun.
- Add lettuce, tomato, pickles, cheese, or coleslaw as desired.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.

- Use rotisserie chicken for a quicker option.
- Try brioche buns for a slightly sweet flavor.
- Add crispy onions or ranch dressing for extra taste.
- Use spicy barbecue sauce for added heat.
