Instructions
- Drain and rinse the white beans thoroughly.
- Heat the butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Sauté the garlic for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden.
- Stir in the white beans and broth.
- Season with Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the beans are warmed through and slightly creamy.
- Stir in the parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Finish with lemon juice and fresh parsley.
- Serve warm with extra parmesan if desired.
Notes
- Cannellini beans, great northern beans, or navy beans all work well for this recipe.
- Use vegetable broth to keep the recipe vegetarian.
- Add spinach, kale, sun-dried tomatoes, or roasted red peppers for extra flavor.
