- Brownie Layer:

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Brownie layer: Melt butter and chocolate together. Stir in granulated and brown sugar. Whisk in eggs and vanilla. Fold in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
- Cookie layer: Cream softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, then mix in flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough over the brownie batter and gently spread across the surface.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool completely before slicing into 16 squares.
