Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls (about 1 tablespoon each) and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 1 inch apart.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly golden.
  7. Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes, then roll them in powdered sugar while still warm.
  8. Once completely cooled, roll them in powdered sugar again for a final coating.

Notes

  • Use almond extract instead of vanilla for a flavor twist.
  • Add finely chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts for added texture.
  • Mix a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg into the powdered sugar for a holiday version.
  • Double coating in powdered sugar gives the cookies their signature snowy look.
  • Dough can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 2 days.
