Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for coating)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
- Roll the dough into small balls (about 1 tablespoon each) and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 1 inch apart.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes, then roll them in powdered sugar while still warm.
- Once completely cooled, roll them in powdered sugar again for a final coating.
Notes
- Use almond extract instead of vanilla for a flavor twist.
- Add finely chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts for added texture.
- Mix a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg into the powdered sugar for a holiday version.
- Double coating in powdered sugar gives the cookies their signature snowy look.
- Dough can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 2 days.
