Ingredients
- 1 ball pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 lb hot Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil or garlic oil (for brushing)
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning
- Crushed red pepper flakes (optional, to taste)
- 2–3 tbsp honey (for drizzling)
- Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.
- Roll or stretch the pizza dough into a 10–12 inch round on a piece of parchment paper.
- Brush the dough lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with oregano or Italian seasoning.
- Top evenly with shredded mozzarella, followed by crumbled hot sausage and feta cheese.
- Transfer the pizza (with parchment) onto the preheated stone or baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes, until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
- Remove from the oven and drizzle generously with honey. Add red pepper flakes if desired for extra heat.
- Garnish with fresh basil, slice, and serve hot.
Notes
- Use a spicy honey for extra kick or floral honey for a unique twist.
- No sauce needed—the cheese and toppings carry all the flavor.
- Try swapping sausage with spicy chorizo or topping with caramelized onions for variety.
- For flatbread versions, reduce bake time to around 8 minutes.
