Ingredients

For the crust:

2 cups crushed pretzels

¾ cup butter, melted

3 tablespoons white sugar

For the filling:

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1 cup white sugar

1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

For the topping:

2 (3 ounce) packages strawberry flavored Jell-O

2 cups boiling water

2 (10 ounce) packages frozen strawberries

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Crust: In a medium bowl, combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar. Mix well, then press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Bake for 8-10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool.

Prepare the Filling: Beat the softened cream cheese and 1 cup sugar until smooth. Fold in the thawed whipped topping. Spread the mixture evenly over the cooled crust.

Prepare the Topping: Dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water, then stir in frozen strawberries. Let the mixture cool to room temperature.

Assemble the Salad: Once the gelatin has cooled, pour it over the cream cheese layer. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, until set.

Serve and Enjoy: Once set, cut into squares and serve chilled

Notes

Fresh Strawberries: Swap out frozen strawberries for fresh sliced strawberries if desired for a different texture.

Gelatin Variations: Experiment with other gelatin flavors, like raspberry or cherry, for a unique twist on the classic strawberry version.

Crunchy Crust Option: Add chopped nuts to the pretzel crust for added flavor and crunch.
