Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 23 tablespoons honey or sugar (to taste)
  • Pinch of salt

For the honey whipped goat cheese:

  • 4 oz goat cheese, softened
  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 12 tablespoons honey (to taste)
  • Pinch of salt

For serving (optional):

  • Toasted baguette slices or crackers
  • Fresh basil or thyme
  • Chopped nuts (pistachios or walnuts)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine strawberries, orange juice, orange zest, balsamic vinegar, honey, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 15–20 minutes or until thickened and glossy. Mash gently for a chunky texture or blend for smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and cool completely. Jam will thicken more as it cools.
  4. In a bowl, beat goat cheese, cream cheese, honey, and salt until smooth and fluffy using a hand mixer.
  5. Refrigerate whipped goat cheese until ready to serve.
  6. To serve, spread whipped goat cheese on toasted bread or crackers, top with jam, and garnish with herbs or nuts if desired.

Notes

  • Use raspberries or figs instead of strawberries for seasonal variation.
  • Add black pepper or chili flakes for a spiced jam.
  • Make dairy-free by using plant-based cream cheese with maple syrup.
  • Jam and goat cheese can be made ahead and stored chilled.
  • Serve leftovers with grilled chicken, roasted veggies, or on a cheese board.
