Ingredients

45 fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped

12 tsp sugar (or honey, maple syrup, to taste)

¾ cup milk of choice (dairy, oat, almond, or soy)

1 tsp matcha powder

¼ cup hot water

Ice cubes

Instructions

In a small bowl, mash strawberries with sugar and let sit for 5–10 minutes to release juices.

In a separate bowl, whisk matcha powder with hot water until smooth and frothy using a bamboo whisk, milk frother, or small whisk.

Fill a tall glass with ice. Spoon the strawberry mixture into the bottom of the glass.

Pour milk over the strawberries, leaving space for the matcha layer.

Slowly pour the matcha over the back of a spoon so it gently layers on top of the milk.

Serve immediately. Stir before drinking if you prefer blended flavors.

Notes

Use strawberry purée for a smoother bottom layer.

Try other fruits like raspberries, blueberries, or peaches.

Add vanilla extract to the milk for a hint of aroma.

Use coconut milk or half-and-half for a creamier texture.

Blend all ingredients for a marbled pink-green swirl effect.

For clean layers, pour matcha slowly over a spoon.

Adjust or skip sugar depending on fruit sweetness.

Strawberries and matcha can be prepped ahead and stored separately for up to 24 hours.
