Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract or lemon extract
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for coating)
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix sugar, eggs, oil or melted butter, and extract until smooth.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients to form a soft dough.
- If desired, divide dough and mix in food coloring.
- Scoop dough into small balls and roll generously in powdered sugar.
- Place on baking tray, spacing apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until crinkled and set.
- Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Coat heavily in powdered sugar for best crinkle effect.
- Do not overmix the dough.
- Chill dough if too sticky to handle.
- Add citrus zest for extra freshness.
- Store in airtight container to maintain softness.
