Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: ¼ tsp salt (omit if using salted butter)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
