Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips or candy melts (for coating)
- 48 mini marshmallows (for ears)
- 48 chocolate chips or candy eyes
- 24 mini M&M’s or black decorating gel (for noses)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, place on baking sheet, and flatten slightly.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
- Melt white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Dip tops of cooled cookies into melted chocolate. Add two mini marshmallows for ears, chocolate chips or candy eyes, and mini M&M or gel for the nose.
- Let decorated cookies sit at room temperature until chocolate sets before serving or storing.
Notes
- Use vanilla candy melts or powdered sugar glaze if white chocolate isn’t available.
- Add almond extract or lemon zest to dough for flavor variation.
- Use cut marshmallows or yogurt pretzels as alternate ear shapes.
- Pre-bake cookies and set up a decorating station for kid-friendly fun.
- Store in a cool place and separate layers with parchment if stacking.
