Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips or candy melts (for coating)
  • 48 mini marshmallows (for ears)
  • 48 chocolate chips or candy eyes
  • 24 mini M&M’s or black decorating gel (for noses)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  5. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, place on baking sheet, and flatten slightly.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
  7. Melt white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  8. Dip tops of cooled cookies into melted chocolate. Add two mini marshmallows for ears, chocolate chips or candy eyes, and mini M&M or gel for the nose.
  9. Let decorated cookies sit at room temperature until chocolate sets before serving or storing.

Notes

  • Use vanilla candy melts or powdered sugar glaze if white chocolate isn’t available.
  • Add almond extract or lemon zest to dough for flavor variation.
  • Use cut marshmallows or yogurt pretzels as alternate ear shapes.
  • Pre-bake cookies and set up a decorating station for kid-friendly fun.
  • Store in a cool place and separate layers with parchment if stacking.
