Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk or heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup Nutella

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C) and grease a standard loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, mixing just until smooth.
  6. Pour about two-thirds of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Warm the Nutella slightly and spoon it over the batter.
  8. Add the remaining batter on top and gently swirl with a knife.
  9. Bake for 50–55 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then remove and cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Do not over-swirl the Nutella to keep distinct ribbons.
  • Add chopped hazelnuts for extra texture.
  • Orange zest adds a subtle citrus contrast.
  • Warm slices slightly before serving for a softer Nutella swirl.
