Ingredients
- 3–4 fresh strawberries (or 2 tbsp strawberry puree)
- 1–2 tsp sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
- ¾ cup cold milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1 tsp matcha green tea powder
- ¼ cup hot water
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mash the strawberries with sugar or honey until syrupy (or mix sweetener into the puree).
- Spoon the strawberry mixture into the bottom of a tall glass.
- Fill the glass with ice, then pour cold milk over the top slowly to form a separate layer.
- In a separate cup, whisk matcha powder with hot water until smooth and frothy.
- Gently pour the matcha over the milk to create the top layer.
- Stir lightly before drinking or enjoy as a layered treat.
Notes
- Use high-quality matcha for best color and flavor.
- For a seed-free version, strain the strawberry puree before using.
- Oat milk adds creaminess; almond and coconut milk work well too.
- Add a touch of vanilla or cinnamon to the strawberry layer for extra flavor.
- Store extra strawberry puree in the fridge for up to 2 days.
