Ingredients

  • 34 fresh strawberries (or 2 tbsp strawberry puree)
  • 12 tsp sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
  • ¾ cup cold milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1 tsp matcha green tea powder
  • ¼ cup hot water
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mash the strawberries with sugar or honey until syrupy (or mix sweetener into the puree).
  2. Spoon the strawberry mixture into the bottom of a tall glass.
  3. Fill the glass with ice, then pour cold milk over the top slowly to form a separate layer.
  4. In a separate cup, whisk matcha powder with hot water until smooth and frothy.
  5. Gently pour the matcha over the milk to create the top layer.
  6. Stir lightly before drinking or enjoy as a layered treat.

Notes

  • Use high-quality matcha for best color and flavor.
  • For a seed-free version, strain the strawberry puree before using.
  • Oat milk adds creaminess; almond and coconut milk work well too.
  • Add a touch of vanilla or cinnamon to the strawberry layer for extra flavor.
  • Store extra strawberry puree in the fridge for up to 2 days.
