Ingredients
- 4–6 fresh lemons (about 1 cup lemon juice)
- 4 cups cold water
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup granulated sugar (to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices and fresh mint (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Juice lemons and strain out seeds and excess pulp.
- In a pitcher, combine lemon juice and sugar. Stir until sugar fully dissolves.
- Add cold water and mix well.
- Taste and adjust: add more sugar for sweetness or lemon juice for tartness.
- Pour over ice in glasses and garnish with lemon slices or mint if desired.
Notes
- Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor; bottled works in a pinch.
- Sweeten naturally with honey, maple syrup, or agave if preferred.
- Add crushed berries or herbs like basil for fun variations.
- Make it sparkling by replacing some water with club soda or sparkling water.
- Store in the fridge for up to 3 days and stir before serving.
