Ingredients

  • 46 fresh lemons (about 1 cup lemon juice)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup granulated sugar (to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and fresh mint (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Juice lemons and strain out seeds and excess pulp.
  2. In a pitcher, combine lemon juice and sugar. Stir until sugar fully dissolves.
  3. Add cold water and mix well.
  4. Taste and adjust: add more sugar for sweetness or lemon juice for tartness.
  5. Pour over ice in glasses and garnish with lemon slices or mint if desired.

Notes

  • Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor; bottled works in a pinch.
  • Sweeten naturally with honey, maple syrup, or agave if preferred.
  • Add crushed berries or herbs like basil for fun variations.
  • Make it sparkling by replacing some water with club soda or sparkling water.
  • Store in the fridge for up to 3 days and stir before serving.
