Ingredients
- 3 English muffins, split in half (6 halves)
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1–2 tbsp olive oil or butter (optional, for brushing)
- Toppings of choice (e.g., pepperoni, olives, mushrooms, bell peppers, cooked sausage)
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place the English muffin halves cut side up on the prepared baking sheet. Brush lightly with olive oil or butter if desired.
- Spoon pizza sauce onto each muffin half, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle a generous layer of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
- Add your favorite toppings and finish with a pinch of dried oregano or Italian seasoning.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden and the edges of the muffins are toasted.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use whole wheat or multigrain English muffins for a heartier base.
- For a white pizza version, skip the tomato sauce and use olive oil, garlic, ricotta, and spinach.
- Swap in pesto or BBQ sauce instead of pizza sauce for a flavor twist.
- Mix different cheeses like provolone, cheddar, or feta for added flavor.
- Toast the muffin halves lightly before adding toppings to keep them from getting soggy.
