  • 1 tsp brown sugar or honey
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp chili flakes or 1 tsp sriracha (optional)

  • Optional: 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • Optional: 1 fried egg
  • Optional: vegetables like bok choy, spinach, or bell pepper, sliced

Instructions

  1. Cook ramen noodles according to package instructions, but undercook slightly. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and chili flakes or sriracha.
  3. Heat sesame oil in a skillet and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the sauce mixture and let it simmer for 1 minute to slightly thicken.
  5. Add cooked noodles to the skillet and toss until evenly coated and glossy.
  6. Remove from heat, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Top with a fried egg if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Swap oyster sauce with hoisin for a vegetarian-friendly version.
  • Add protein like shrimp, tofu, or chicken for a more filling meal.
  • For extra crunch, toss in stir-fried veggies like carrots or snap peas.
  • A splash of rice vinegar or lime juice can brighten up the flavor.
  • Reheat in a skillet with a splash of water to maintain texture.
