Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 8 oz cream cheese or mascarpone, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional flavor variations:
- 1/4 cup melted chocolate
- 1/4 cup fruit puree
- 1 tsp instant espresso
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- Optional toppings:
- Fresh berries
- Shaved chocolate
- Whipped cream
- Cookie crumbs
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fluffy and well combined.
- Spoon or pipe mousse into serving glasses or bowls.
- Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
- Top with fruit, chocolate, or desired garnishes just before serving.
Notes
- For a chocolate version, fold in melted chocolate or cocoa powder.
- Swirl in fruit puree for a fruity mousse.
- Add instant espresso for a coffee mousse.
- Use coconut cream and dairy-free cream cheese for a dairy-free version.
- Can be made ahead and stored for up to 3 days in the fridge.
