Ingredients

3540 saltine crackers

1 cup butter

1 cup brown sugar

2 cups white chocolate chips

¼ cup granulated sugar

2 teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a 10×15-inch baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Arrange the Crackers: Lay the saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring the crackers are touching each other and filling the pan evenly.

Make the Toffee Layer: In a saucepan over medium-high heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together, whisking constantly. Bring to a boil and cook for 2–3 minutes until the mixture thickens into a smooth toffee sauce.

Bake the Crackers: Pour the brown sugar mixture evenly over the saltine crackers, spreading it to cover them completely. Bake in the preheated oven for 4 minutes.

Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar: While the crackers are baking, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, then set it aside.

Add the White Chocolate: Once the pan is out of the oven, immediately sprinkle the white chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Let them sit for a few minutes to melt, then spread the chocolate evenly using a knife or offset spatula.

Sprinkle the Cinnamon Sugar: Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the melted white chocolate for that signature churro flavor.

Cool and Serve: Let the chocolate set, either at room temperature or by placing it in the fridge for faster cooling. Once set, cut into pieces and serve.

Notes

Variations: You can use milk or dark chocolate chips instead of white chocolate for a different flavor profile.

Nutty Twist: Add crushed pecans or almonds for extra crunch.

Spicy Kick: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the cinnamon-sugar mix for a sweet and spicy version.
