Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh strawberries, washed and thoroughly dried
  • 1 cup semi-sweet, milk, or dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • 1 tsp coconut oil or shortening (optional, for smoother chocolate)
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips (optional, for drizzling)
  • Optional toppings: crushed nuts, sprinkles, shredded coconut, crushed cookies

Instructions

  1. Wash strawberries and pat them completely dry with a towel. Set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate in 20–30 second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Add coconut oil or shortening if using.
  3. Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip into melted chocolate, twirling gently to coat.
  4. Let excess chocolate drip off, then place the dipped strawberries on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. If using toppings, sprinkle them over the chocolate before it sets. For drizzle, melt white chocolate and drizzle over dipped strawberries.
  6. Let strawberries sit at room temperature to set, or refrigerate for 15–30 minutes until firm.

Notes

  • Make sure strawberries are completely dry before dipping—moisture prevents chocolate from sticking.
  • For a glossy finish, add a bit of coconut oil or shortening to the chocolate.
  • Don’t stack the strawberries during storage; they’re best stored in a single layer.
  • Best enjoyed within 24 hours of making for freshest look and texture.
  • Use themed sprinkles or colored chocolate for holiday or party versions.
