Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh strawberries, washed and thoroughly dried
- 1 cup semi-sweet, milk, or dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
- 1 tsp coconut oil or shortening (optional, for smoother chocolate)
- 1/4 cup white chocolate chips (optional, for drizzling)
- Optional toppings: crushed nuts, sprinkles, shredded coconut, crushed cookies
Instructions
- Wash strawberries and pat them completely dry with a towel. Set aside.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate in 20–30 second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Add coconut oil or shortening if using.
- Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip into melted chocolate, twirling gently to coat.
- Let excess chocolate drip off, then place the dipped strawberries on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- If using toppings, sprinkle them over the chocolate before it sets. For drizzle, melt white chocolate and drizzle over dipped strawberries.
- Let strawberries sit at room temperature to set, or refrigerate for 15–30 minutes until firm.
Notes
- Make sure strawberries are completely dry before dipping—moisture prevents chocolate from sticking.
- For a glossy finish, add a bit of coconut oil or shortening to the chocolate.
- Don’t stack the strawberries during storage; they’re best stored in a single layer.
- Best enjoyed within 24 hours of making for freshest look and texture.
- Use themed sprinkles or colored chocolate for holiday or party versions.
