Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- ⅓ cup water
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
- 2 tubes crescent roll dough
- 2 tablespoons salsa or taco sauce (optional)
- Optional toppings for serving:
- Sour cream
- Salsa
- Guacamole
- Chopped tomatoes
- Sliced olives
- Jalapeños
- Shredded lettuce
- Chopped green onions
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground meat until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Add taco seasoning and water; simmer until thickened. Stir in salsa or taco sauce if using.
- Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles. Arrange triangles in a circle on the baking sheet with wide ends overlapping in the center and points facing out.
- Spoon taco mixture onto the wide ends of the dough and sprinkle with cheese.
- Fold the pointed ends over the filling and tuck under the center to seal.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool slightly and serve with your choice of toppings or dips in the center of the ring or on the side.
Notes
- Swap meat with refried or black beans for a vegetarian version.
- Add jalapeños or hot sauce for a spicy kick.
- Mix in cream cheese for extra creaminess.
- Use diced chiles, olives, or corn for Southwest flavor.
- Make mini taco rings using muffin tins and crescent dough sheets.
