Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning or homemade spice blend
- 2 tbsp tomato paste or 1/4 cup salsa (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar, mozzarella, or cheese blend
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1–2 tbsp olive oil or butter (for toasting)
- Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomato, sour cream, hot sauce, pickles
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, chopped onion, and garlic. Cook until beef is browned and fully cooked.
- Drain excess fat. Stir in taco seasoning and tomato paste or salsa with a splash of water.
- Simmer for a few minutes until the mixture thickens and becomes flavorful.
- Lay tortillas flat. Sprinkle shredded cheese down the center of each.
- Spoon beef mixture on top of the cheese. Add optional toppings if using.
- Fold sides and roll tightly into wraps or burritos.
- Heat a skillet with olive oil or butter. Toast each wrap until golden and crisp on both sides, starting seam-side down.
- Slice and serve warm with desired dipping sauces or garnishes.
Notes
- Use ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- Add rice, beans, or sautéed veggies for more filling bulk.
- Swap cheddar with pepper jack or queso for extra flavor.
- Drizzle with ranch or chipotle mayo before rolling for added creaminess.
- Make them quesadilla-style by folding instead of fully wrapping.
