Ingredients
- 1 bag (20 oz) frozen French fries
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup chopped dill pickles
- Optional: diced tomatoes or chopped green onions for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add garlic, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper to the beef. Stir and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Transfer the beef mixture to a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef layer.
- Top with frozen French fries in an even layer.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the fries are golden and crispy.
- Remove from oven and top with chopped dill pickles and optional toppings before serving.
Notes
- Use ground turkey or plant-based meat for a lighter version.
- Swap fries with waffle fries, curly fries, or tater tots for variety.
- Add jalapeños or hot sauce for a spicy kick.
- Top with shredded lettuce and tomatoes after baking for a cheeseburger salad feel.
