Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey, chicken, or plant-based crumbles)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups romaine or iceberg lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup pickles, sliced
  • 1/4 cup red onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp pickle juice

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the ground beef, seasoning with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until no longer pink, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  2. While the beef cooks, prepare the vegetables: chop lettuce, halve cherry tomatoes, slice pickles and red onions, and dice the avocado.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and pickle juice to create the burger sauce.
  4. To assemble, start with a layer of chopped lettuce in each bowl.
  5. Add a scoop of the seasoned ground beef on top of the lettuce.
  6. Top with cherry tomatoes, pickles, red onions, avocado, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Drizzle the burger sauce over the top of each bowl before serving.

Notes

  • Store components separately to avoid soggy lettuce.
  • Great for meal prep—just assemble fresh when ready to eat.
  • Swap proteins to suit dietary preferences.
  • Add jalapeños or hot sauce for a spicy kick.
  • Try tzatziki and Mediterranean toppings for a flavor twist.
