Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (or turkey, chicken, or plant-based crumbles)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups romaine or iceberg lettuce, chopped
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/2 cup pickles, sliced
- 1/4 cup red onions, thinly sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 avocado, diced
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 tbsp pickle juice
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the ground beef, seasoning with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until no longer pink, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- While the beef cooks, prepare the vegetables: chop lettuce, halve cherry tomatoes, slice pickles and red onions, and dice the avocado.
- In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and pickle juice to create the burger sauce.
- To assemble, start with a layer of chopped lettuce in each bowl.
- Add a scoop of the seasoned ground beef on top of the lettuce.
- Top with cherry tomatoes, pickles, red onions, avocado, and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Drizzle the burger sauce over the top of each bowl before serving.
Notes
- Store components separately to avoid soggy lettuce.
- Great for meal prep—just assemble fresh when ready to eat.
- Swap proteins to suit dietary preferences.
- Add jalapeños or hot sauce for a spicy kick.
- Try tzatziki and Mediterranean toppings for a flavor twist.
