Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 34 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or basil, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a small baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream (or mayo), melted butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until smooth.
  3. Stir in mozzarella cheese and half of the Parmesan cheese.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle the remaining Parmesan on top.
  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the dip is bubbly and golden brown on top.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley or basil.
  7. Serve warm with toasted bread, crackers, or veggies for dipping.

Notes

  • Add cooked crumbled sausage or chopped spinach for a heartier dip.
  • Use roasted garlic instead of raw for a milder, sweeter flavor.
  • Layer marinara sauce underneath the dip for a pizza-style twist.
  • Provolone or fontina can be added for extra cheesy richness.
  • Assemble ahead and refrigerate, then bake fresh before serving.
