Ingredients
- 8 sheets phyllo dough
- 6 tbsp butter, melted
- 3 medium apples (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 6 oz Brie cheese, sliced
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, toss sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
- Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on the baking sheet and brush lightly with melted butter.
- Repeat layering and buttering phyllo sheets until all sheets are stacked.
- Arrange the apple mixture in the center of the phyllo stack, leaving a wide border.
- Place sliced Brie evenly over the apples.
- Fold the edges of the phyllo over the filling to form a rustic galette.
- Brush exposed phyllo with additional butter.
- Bake for 28–30 minutes until golden, crisp, and bubbly.
- Remove from oven, drizzle with honey, sprinkle with nuts, and serve warm.
Notes
- Firm apples hold their shape best during baking.
- Add pears or fresh herbs like thyme for variation.
- Reheat in the oven to maintain crisp phyllo texture.
- Caramel can be used instead of honey for extra indulgence.
