Ingredients
- 4 slices frozen Texas toast (garlic flavor works especially well)
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1–1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Toppings of choice (pepperoni, cooked sausage, sliced bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, etc.)
- Italian seasoning (optional, for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes.
- Arrange the Texas toast slices on a work surface and spread a spoonful of pizza sauce on each slice.
- Sprinkle a generous layer of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
- Add your favorite toppings and finish with a pinch of Italian seasoning if using.
- Place the loaded toast slices into the air fryer basket (work in batches if needed, usually 2 at a time depending on size).
- Air fry for 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the toast are golden and crisp.
- Remove and serve hot—enjoy right away for best texture.
Notes
- Mix up toppings based on what you have—leftover chicken, ham and pineapple, or a hearty veggie combo all work great.
- Add crushed red pepper flakes or sliced jalapeños for heat.
- Try mixing cheeses like provolone, cheddar, or parmesan with the mozzarella for extra flavor.
- This can be made in the oven if you don’t have an air fryer (425°F for about 8–10 minutes).
