Ingredients

  • 4 slices frozen Texas toast (garlic flavor works especially well)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 11 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Toppings of choice (pepperoni, cooked sausage, sliced bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, etc.)
  • Italian seasoning (optional, for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes.
  2. Arrange the Texas toast slices on a work surface and spread a spoonful of pizza sauce on each slice.
  3. Sprinkle a generous layer of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  4. Add your favorite toppings and finish with a pinch of Italian seasoning if using.
  5. Place the loaded toast slices into the air fryer basket (work in batches if needed, usually 2 at a time depending on size).
  6. Air fry for 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the toast are golden and crisp.
  7. Remove and serve hot—enjoy right away for best texture.

Notes

  • Mix up toppings based on what you have—leftover chicken, ham and pineapple, or a hearty veggie combo all work great.
  • Add crushed red pepper flakes or sliced jalapeños for heat.
  • Try mixing cheeses like provolone, cheddar, or parmesan with the mozzarella for extra flavor.
  • This can be made in the oven if you don’t have an air fryer (425°F for about 8–10 minutes).
