- 2 slices of bread (white, sourdough, or preferred type)
- 1–2 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, mozzarella, or blend)
- 1 tbsp butter or mayonnaise (for spreading)
Instructions
- Spread butter or mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place cheese slices between the unbuttered sides to form a sandwich.
- Preheat air fryer to 370°F (188°C) for 2 minutes.
- Place sandwich in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Air fry for 4–5 minutes, then flip and cook an additional 3–4 minutes, or until both sides are golden and cheese is melted.
- Let rest for 1–2 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use shredded cheese if preferred—just distribute evenly.
- Add-ins like sliced tomatoes, caramelized onions, or ham take it to the next level.
- For a garlic twist, mix a little garlic powder into your butter before spreading.
- Mayo gives a tangier flavor and spreads more easily than butter.
