Ingredients

  • 3 large apples, peeled and sliced into wedges
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or panko)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • Cooking spray
  • Optional dipping sauce:
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce or vanilla yogurt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
  2. Prepare three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Dredge each apple slice in flour, dip into egg, then coat in the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Arrange coated apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket and lightly spray with cooking spray.
  5. Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.
  6. Let cool slightly and serve with caramel sauce or yogurt if desired.

Notes

  • Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for best texture.
  • Skip breading and toss apples in cinnamon sugar for a lighter version.
  • Crushed graham crackers can replace breadcrumbs for a sweeter coating.
  • Reheat in the air fryer to restore crispness.
  • Adjust sugar to taste depending on apple sweetness.
