Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and gently add the eggs.
  2. Boil for about 7 minutes for jammy centers.
  3. Transfer eggs immediately to an ice bath and let cool completely.
  4. Peel the eggs carefully and set aside.
  5. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, water, sugar, garlic, green onions, sesame oil, sesame seeds, and red pepper flakes until the sugar dissolves.
  6. Place the peeled eggs in a container and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  8. Slice eggs in half and spoon marinade over the top before serving.

Notes

  • Overnight marinating gives the best flavor.
  • Adjust soy sauce and water ratio for less saltiness.
  • Serve with rice, noodles, or ramen.
  • Do not reheat; serve chilled or at room temperature.
