Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta such as penne or spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add the butter and allow it to melt into the beef mixture.
  6. Pour in the beef broth and add Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  7. Simmer the sauce for a few minutes so the flavors combine.
  8. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until evenly coated in the garlic butter sauce.
  9. Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese and chopped parsley over the pasta.
  10. Toss gently and serve warm.

Notes

  • Ground turkey can be used instead of beef for a lighter option.
  • Add sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or zucchini for extra vegetables.
  • A splash of cream can be added for a richer, creamier sauce.
  • Use freshly grated parmesan for the best flavor and melting texture.
  • Add a little broth or butter when reheating to keep the pasta moist.
