Ingredients
- 12 oz pasta such as penne or spaghetti
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 tbsp butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until tender. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the butter and allow it to melt into the beef mixture.
- Pour in the beef broth and add Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
- Simmer the sauce for a few minutes so the flavors combine.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until evenly coated in the garlic butter sauce.
- Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese and chopped parsley over the pasta.
- Toss gently and serve warm.
Notes
- Ground turkey can be used instead of beef for a lighter option.
- Add sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or zucchini for extra vegetables.
- A splash of cream can be added for a richer, creamier sauce.
- Use freshly grated parmesan for the best flavor and melting texture.
- Add a little broth or butter when reheating to keep the pasta moist.
